How do I make a video on windows movie maker 2.6 on Vista?

Well, I've been going on WMM (windows move maker) and it keeps giong on the storyboard. It is really getting on my nerves! I have seen other people get it on a timeline thing, not on a story board. And also, I need to know how to make the images and clips last longer. Please help! And I need to know whether I need to save it - to go on save and then save as, or save as then save over again.
