What is succession ??????/???????????????????????…
Succession is a natural process where (in botany) plants grow where there used to be none (this is primary succession), and a cycle of domination of different types of plants begins. Dirt builds up with wind in cracks and spaces, where wind-dispersed seeds of annual plants can get lodged in and with a little rain and luck, will grow. Over time, different species will dominate the area, and then if the area is not disturbed for a while, other, hardier and woodier plants will begin to take over, eventually leading to mature forests made of trees like maples, oaks, pines, etc. Then the process restarts when a tree falls down (this time called secondary succession, because there were organisms there previously), leaving open space for other plant seeds to lodge and mature in.
