Horse having problems with handling of ears when bridling need a bridle that works like a halter.?

I have a ten yr old gelding with ear issues. I can halter him with great difficulty, using a lot of patients and sometimes fusteration. I use to never be able to touch him but now I can brush and do hof care without using any restraints. He has a mental issue with having the bridle put over his ears making it dangerous and hard to bridle him up. Haltering is much easier so is there a halter like bridle out there that I can just snap on the bit. I have him in a hackamore but b/c not corrdinated to put bit in and get head band over ears. Perfer to find another peice of equipment that eliminates this problem. I am also considering a running nightingale as he is a head thrower and very vocal when out on the ride. I am not experienced or confident enough to physically correct him so perfer prevention as opposed to correction. I do have professional help. Need halter/bridle combo with no ear bands.
