How long do you have to wait to Expunge a Misdemenor Cl A and would it stop you from getting a Job?

My bestfriend's daughter crime was filing a false report about not getting a check. She was first going to court for a Felony Cl 4, Disorderly Conduct. However, it was lessoned and she was charged with attempt theft Misdemenor Cl A. She is afraid that she won't be able to get a job because yestauday a job turned her down do to this. Did she do right by accepting this charge or should she have fought to lesson it to a Misdemenor Cl A, Disorderly Conduct. She never recieved a new check because she chose to tell the police the truth.
