IF life or death would JW take blood?

I am a critical care nurse and caring for a patient with hemoglobin of 2.9!!! He is very unstable and probably will die today and I have been working very hard all day to save him but IF he would just take blood I could save his life. He is awake and able to tell me that he does not want blood... so just curious if you KNEW you were going to die would you take the blood?
