What are some untouched and wondrous places in the northwest?

I'm trying to find a place to take my boyfriend as a christmas present. We've done all the usual stuff like sand dunes, ice caves, ext. I want to take him some place untouched and wonderous. I was thinking a trip to Alaska to see the Northern lights, but it's not the right time of year. I'm limiting my travel area to Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and Alaska. Any suggestions? The more the better.
