Where could i buy/grow mint?

i live in machusetts. i was wondering where i could buy peppermint leaves, like shaws, walmart, etc. i was also wondering if i could grow peppermint in my backyard, like i said before, i lived in machusetts. where could i buy the seeds? i have an agway store nearby, and would i need any equipment?
