Cursive Writing?? who still uses it?

In kindergarten, when we were learning to read, we were reading cursive and same for first grade. I was at a little private school but in 3rd grade at public school they were teaching kids how to write in cursive then in 4th and 5th grade we HAD to write in cursive, no question. Then I moved to a different district in 6th grade and only 2 other kids in my english cl could read the cursive in our workbooks, let alone write it. I figured by high school they would make people write cursive, but they havent. They really dont care. All the teachers write on the board in cursive and said if we didnt know how to read it we have to figure it out, but theyre not trying to teach anyone. I write in cursive everyday and I think it is SO pretty. Im not sure why i said all that, but my question is do people still write in cursive?? Tell me what you think(:
